Mighty Flying EaglesEst. 1946Hatherleigh, South Australia

One Club. One Direction. One Nest.
As at July 2026 — and still growing.

Our story
Purchased by Bowman Earthmovers in March 2025 and gifted to the Hatherleigh Sport & Recreation Committee, the 24-seat Mitsubishi Rosa has quickly become one of the club's most useful community resources.
The bus helps connect communities, gives juniors and families access to events they might otherwise miss, supports safer social events and provides affordable group transport across the Limestone Coast and beyond.
Where the bus goes
Safe transport
One of the bus's most important jobs is getting people home safely. For major club functions, bus runs to surrounding towns mean nobody needs to feel they have to drive.
Volunteer licensed drivers make these services possible.

For the whole region
The bus belongs to Hatherleigh, but it isn't just for Hatherleigh. Trips are regularly opened to people from Millicent, Mount Burr, Tantanoola, Beachport, Southend and surrounding districts, and the club works with other clubs, community organisations and local groups wherever the bus can help. Keeping it busy spreads the running costs and creates opportunities for people right across the region.
Looking ahead
The Sport & Recreation Committee plans to keep growing the program, with more:
Expressions of interest
Public trips are promoted on the club's social media. Expressions of interest decide which trips go ahead — most are limited to 24 passengers and depend on minimum numbers, ticket availability and final costs.
